'Our Time: Oklahoma State Football' Cowboys Documentary Series Debuted On ESPN

As previously reported, after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down productions in Oklahoma in spring, work on various movie and TV projects began ramping back up in early summer, leading to a busy fall for the state's film industry. “Our Time: Oklahoma State Football” is one of several film and television projects currently filming in the state.

Also among the productions currently underway around the state are the highly anticipated pilot for the FX Native American series "Reservation Dogs," from acclaimed Tulsa moviemaker Sterlin Harjo ("Love & Fury") and Oscar-nominated New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi ("Jojo Rabbit," "The Mandalorian"); Tulsa native John Swab's (“Body Brokers”) crime drama "Ida Red," starring Oscar winner Melissa Leo, Frank Grillo and Josh Hartnett, in the Tulsa area; director Jared Cohn's thriller “Cheer for Your Life,” in the Oklahoma City area; and director Nadeem Soumah's feature film “Impropriety,” in OKC and the surrounding area.

Other productions gearing up to film in Oklahoma this autumn include the biographical drama "Reagan," which will star Dennis Quaid ("Far From Heaven," "I Can Only Imagine") as the 40th president; Oklahoma filmmaker Kyle Kauwika Harris' crime thriller "Out of Exile," starring Adam Hampton, Ryan Merriman and Peter Greene; and Jon Erwin and Andrew Erwin ("I Can Only Imagine")'s inspirational sports biopic "American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story," with Zachary Levi ("Shazam," TV's "Chuck") set to portray the two-time NFL MVP and Hall of Famer.

Also as previously reported, iconic filmmaker Martin Scorsese hopes to begin lensing his anticipated adaptation of "Killers of the Flower Moon" in Oklahoma in early 2021, according to the Osage News.
